Why can't I just quit??

Why is it that one can never seem to finish a house? Even when you THINK you might be seeing a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel, there's always a big wind coming around the corner to snuff out the light! ~sigh~

Some of y'all have heard the multiple stories of my chronic house drama. After almost 10 years of remodeling, stripping, refinishing, painting and cleaning the real life "Money Pit", I THOUGHT we were getting close to finishing up the house this year. DH started painting the outside; Katelyn and I were working on the trim work. And then we could start investing in some of the non-essential "extras" we wanted, like a hot tub, new living room suite, etc.

This morning I got up with high hopes of finishing the trim on the front of the house and deck. I walked into the bathroom to find running water in the sink. While fussing about the kids leaving it on, and trying to shut it off, I realized "DANG! This thing is broke!"

I'm lucky enough to have married a "fix it" type guy but does that ever help?!? NO, nothing ever breaks when he is home! It's always at the beginning of one of one of his 24 hour shifts! And can I hit him up with this tomorrow when he gets home? No, it's Father's Day. How cruel can I be? Well........ :) Nah, I won't do it! LOL

OK, change of plans....I'll start a load of laundry and then run up to the hardware store.
I gathered up a load and ran downstairs to start the washer and felt this cushiony feeling under my foot. I looked down to find the tile in the laundry room is no longer attached in the middle of the room. It's as if it's floating in air......until I step on it! **AARRGGHH**

I stomped back upstairs, totally disgusted with the start of my day. But thought that a cup of coffee might lighten my mood a little! So I headed to the kitchen and found that the coffee that DH started this morning before he left for work seemed rather cool; and the coffee pot was off. (Oh well, I'll just turn it back on and warm it up.) ***Push toggle button***Push toggle button again****Hmmmm, no red light****

NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo!!!! NOT the coffee maker too!!!!

Thinking.......OK, I'm going to busy myself and go paint, work out my frustrations before it gets over 90 degrees here today.

So I took a coke (Hey, I gotta get caffeine from something today!) went out to the garage, gathered up my paint and brushes and headed over to the end of the house. One way or the other, I was bound and determined to work my way back across the front of the house and finish this today. I sat my coke on the edge of the deck and started painting. I got to where the deck comes out from the house and thought I'd finish up along the side of the deck before moving further down. (Can you see where this is going with the coke above my head and the paint can sitting on the ground and me painting in front of my face?!?) You guessed it! I bumped the 1/2 full coke can and sent it flying over the edge of the deck; and with Murphy's Law cursing my every move today, the coke landed in the paint can!

Lessons Learned:
Cola Brown mixed with "Bridle Path" makes a rather unique, funky color!
When jumping to TRY to catch a flying can of Cola, one should remember that she had previously slid her body between a deck and an old massive rose bush BEFORE backing up!
Splattered "Bridle Path" paint does not match fuschia on a rose bush, nor does it compliment a magnolia!

So I'm taking a break before heading to the hardware store. I may decide not to turn on the water supply in the bathroom tonight. Heck, we have 2 other bathrooms; I think this can wait until DH gets home tomorrow, don't you?

I know this all seems rather minor, and in the grand scheme of things rather trivial. But I get so frustrated with things being unfinished that all I want to do is just throw up my hands and quit! But then again, I guess all this is just a sign of life itself, a life yet unfinished. So for that, I am thankful. I just wish that during my unfinished life I might sometime have a finished home! :)

My Georgia Scrapbook Kit

I'm going to attempt to post a sample image of a scrapbook kit that I made. Please let me know what you think.
Here is the link to download parts of the kit: http://rapidshare.de/users/40TPT8
The password is "gapeach"
Or you can download the entire kit in zipped format here: http://rapidshare.de/files/22837458/senati_GApeachKit.zip.html

Please forgive me; I still haven't figured out how to upload one file with all the elements in it on Rapidshare. But I'll keep working at it! LOL

OK, so I don't know what I'm doing

I have all these ideas of things that I want to post. But I can't seem to find the time to read up on how to do all this. Eventually, I'd like to post some of my crafts, templates and scrapbook sets here. Maybe if we have a rainy day while we're on vacation later this month, I can sit down and concentrate on this?
